Windows internals is my everydays work and beeing scared was the first phase which is gone years ago. The next phase was frustration from bugs and misconcepts and current one is, surprisingly, admiration (not a big, though). I’d never believe it before but MS finally made XP pretty good OS (instead of w2k which is XP beta). But I digress.
Online DDK I pointed out is perfectly legal; they work in cooperation with MS and there is the only place to report DDK bugs.
I agree the other stuff can be very useful. On the other hand, if somebody doesn’t know where to find docs about Win32 APIs, Platform SDK will be more than enough. Anyway, the info you posted can be useful for others.
As for downloads, I’m glad we have everything on CDs coming from MSDN subscription. The hardest thing is to find correct CD; we probably have thousands in our office.
