Try the attached. Place file FPROMPT.MAC in your 9.0 Multi-Edit\mac folder. Then Rebuild the Macro Library by going to START -> ALL PROGRAMS -> Multi-Edit -> Rebuild Macro Library (exit Multi-Edit before doing this).

See if that fixes the problem. In the modified .s file my changes are marked with my initials DWD. As I recall with these changes the program will tend to stay with a mask of *.* if you start out with that, but you can still select to display only specific file extentions if you want.
