Depending how you start up Multi-Edit, either at the runline or in the properties of the shortcut you are clicking you just need to add -NI or /NI for new instance.

A space between MEW32 and the / is optional, but you must separate multiple command line options with a space. This would be most likely as most people (by default) have the /SR also, for session restore.
