Yes those are System Variables. System Integer Variables. You use them like regular integer variables. So you can do:
[code:3h3ekpil]FIND_TEXT_EX(’MEMORIAL’, 0, _RegExp|_CaseSensitive, Block_Col1, Block_Col2);
[/code:3h3ekpil]I think this restricts the search to a columnar block range.

You can also use the "S_And_R" macro for search and replace. I would first look at which John Martzouco wrote on how to call the "S_And_R" macro.

To restrict to searching just the marked block with the "S_And_R" macro, include the [code:3h3ekpil]R – Restrict search to marked block[/code:3h3ekpil] letter in [code:3h3ekpil]Global_Str(’Switches’)[/code:3h3ekpil].

This will perform the search & replace as if you filled out the search & replace dialog, but it bypasses the dialog; you just set the global variables (which is what the dialog does) and then call "S_And_R" directly.

Ask back here if you have any further questions.
