After adding the new font to your computer you can tell Multi-Edit to use it by going to TOOLS -> CUSTOMIZE… -> Editing(left side), and bottom right under “Default Editing Fonts” select either Oem or Ansi (I use Ansi), click on the button, and in the window which comes up you can select what font you want to use, and what font size you want. Try different settings and see what you like.

(Multi-Edit requires fixed width fonts, like Courier New. Variable width fonts like Times New Roman won’t be listed.)
