    Hi,

    I use MEW 11.04.00 and for instance I have an OneDrive link that stops ULing at the “!” char; How can i change MEW to treat “!” as a valid http link char?

    Charles.

    Hi Charles,
    Are you referring to adding a link using weblair? I just tried adding links to local and remote pages with the ! character and it placed them without an issue.
    Can you elaborate what the issue is?

    I have a TXT file with a https link that has the “!” char. Mew UL the link up to but not including the “!” char.

    Hi Charles,
    Now I understand. This is probably because ! is part of the word delimits. Go to Tools-Customize-Editing and try removing the ! from the delimit list.

    Thanks,
    Clay

    Hello Clay,

    Removing the “!” char from the word delimits does not change the behavior…

    Charles.

    Ok,
    Took some looking (and experimenting) but I found it. Don’t know what else this may effect but if you go to Tools-Customize-Spelling, then in the Valid word characters add !, then restart ME.

    Hello Clay,

    That does not seem to work. Having checked it – I have gone back to:

    Tools-Customize-Editing delimit list:
    |9|1 .()”‘,$@%^&*{}![]?/||;:+-<>~

    Tools-Customize-Spelling, Valid word characters:
    ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz_’

    The link that is involved is:
    =============================
    the link is https://1drv.ms/f/s!Ap7yFWW-HrgerzFJOkXMRYDAf4mJ if you need it again.
    =============================

    Charles,
    Did you try changing the Tools-Customize-Spelling, Valid word characters to
    ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz_’!
    When I did this the whole name was underlined and I was able to right click and select Open to open the link in my browser. I then removed the ! and ME went back to the behavior where the underline stops before the ! character. Like I said the change requires a restart.

    Clay
