    I am using ME2006 and, when editing a CSS Style block with Topstyle Lite 3.10, on return to Multiedit via the "Done" button, extra newlines are added in the source code (so that, after several edits, the source code appears to contain essentially blank lines !)

    A hex dump shows that each line ends with 0D 0A 0A instead of 0D 0A.

    Also, the closing brace of the last selector in the source code block is "eaten" when switching to Topstyle.

    Please, can you help for these problems ?

    (see attached file for an example)

    Thanks

    I’m not using ME2006, but your problem may be related to a problem I reported last year with ME 9.x and TopStyle Lite and extra end of line characters being added in this post http://www.multieditsoftware.com/forums … .php?t=987

    Ernie,

    I just fixed the issue you reported and it should be in the next release. I had applied a fix to this same code earlier which fixed the case where \n characters were handled correctly since that is how most of my strings were specified but I failed to take into account strings with \r\n. That is now fixed.

    I don’t believe this is the same issue being reported though. I’ll take a look at this issue as well but I’ll have to install the newer version of Topstyle to test with.

    Thanks for fixing the bug with the 10.03 release.
    There is another problem with Topstyle, however : when right-clicking on a CSS file link to launch Topstyle, the Topstyle program is indeed invoked, but without loading the stylesheet.
    Any workaround ?

    I expected the problem could have been fixed in the new 10.04 release…

    hubert,
    Are you still having problems getting Topstyle to load a CSS file link? I’ve tested it with the following HTML file and it seems to always work for me:
    [code:118hsqra]<html>
    <head>

    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="main.css">

    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="mysubdir\abc.css">

    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="..\sidedir\def.css">

    </head>

    <body>

    </body>
    </html>
    [/code:118hsqra]
    I’m using Multi-Edit 2006 10.04 with Topstyle Lite 3.10

    Thanks David, for your answer.
    After addtional tests, I discovered that the problem occurs only if the CSS file lies in the same directory as the HTML file *and* the href statement does not contain a relative path.
    So in your example, the following code works for me also :
    [code:30zfruf8]
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="mysubdir\abc.css">
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="..\sidedir\def.css">
    [/code:30zfruf8]
    but not this one :
    [code:30zfruf8]
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="main.css">
    [/code:30zfruf8]
    To get it to work, I need to write it as :
    [code:30zfruf8]
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href=".\main.css">
    [/code:30zfruf8]

    I do not understand why ! (I tried adding the current directory (.) to the path, but no success ! :( )

    Any idea ?
